About Cr Fiona
Hi, and thanks for visiting.
I’m a long term resident of Brisbane’s southside, and live with my young family in Greenslopes.
Like many other families, I love my area. The balance between old and new, public transport and accessibility, bikeways and busways. The diversity and choices add to the appeal.
The suburbs that make up the Coorparoo Ward have a rich history. A proud heritage. One that is reflected in the many character homes and public buildings that form our unique street scape. I am passionate about local heritage, history and stories. That’s why I choose to live in a heritage-style home and even before I was Councillor, sought to protect our local history.
Coorparoo Ward is also a place of opportunity and optimism, especially for the thousands of new Australians who now call it home. Around one in four residents were born overseas.
These people have brought with them, their experiences and traditions, and by sharing them, have contributed to a more inclusive, harmonious and better Brisbane.
I am involved in many local community groups and want to ensure the Brisbane of tomorrow is even better than the Brisbane of today. I want to see our local greenspace protected and accessibility improved for all modes of transport.
I believe that to be a good Councillor, you must be an advocate – not an activist. Make people at the centre of decisions and get on with the job of providing essential Council services.
It is an absolute privilege to help, to listen and to serve my community.
