Fighting for more bus services at Langlands Park station

 In General

Councillor for Coorparoo Ward, Fiona Cunningham is calling for more peak hour services at Langlands Park Busway.

“Residents who catch the bus from this popular stop have told me that during peak times the city-bound services are full or overcrowded by the time they reach Langlands Park station”, Cr Cunningham said.

“As a result I have started a petition calling for more peak hour services to operate through this station for the Stones Corner and Coorparoo residents who use this stop as their daily commute,” she said.

“Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has a plan to deliver the Brisbane Metro, a project that will get people home quicker and safer with more travel options, less congestion and a better public transport network.

“It plays a key part of improving Brisbane’s transport network, connecting the city to the suburbs.

“Rather than hundreds of buses travelling into the city, they’ll link with high-capacity and high-frequency Metro services running along dedicated busways.

“Unfortunately, the State Government is delaying the construction of the Eastern Busway and one result is existing bus services are facing pressures in morning peak hour,” Cr Cunningham said.

“Rather than waiting for the never-never busway, I’m asking residents for their support to secure more services for our area, getting people into the City quicker and safer,” she said.

The State Government should increase the number of bus services for the Coorparoo, Stones Corner and Greenslopes residents who rely on the Langlands Park station for their morning commute.
